Welcome to 2023 in DTLA!
It’s a new year, and our schedule is already packed with LA adventures. A highlight of New Year’s Day for millions across the globe, the 134th Rose Parade will take place on Monday, January 2, from 8am to noon in Pasadena. Snag a spot on the 5.5-mile route along Colorado Blvd, or stop by later at Floatfest, a 2-mile exhibition along Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards where all the fantastic parade floats will be on display through Tuesday, January 3. Up next, we hope you’re hungry because, on January 14th, Executive Chef Victor Morales will unveil his highly-anticipated 10-course brunch menu at The Rooftop, where you can indulge in delicious food and drink, plus a fantastic panoramic view of the city. Finally, you’ll have the chance to do New Year’s all over again on Sunday, January 22, as folks across the world mark the start of the Year of the Rabbit. Our favorite Lunar New Year event, the Golden Dragon Parade, caps off a whole week of festivities on Saturday, January 28. More than 100,000 revelers are expected to flock to the parade route to watch dragons, dancers, drummers, marching bands, and city officials process down North Broadway between 1 and 5pm in LA’s vibrant Chinatown.
