WAYS TO BEAT THE SUMMER HEAT
There’s something magical about spending summer in Los Angeles. It could be the shores filled with surfers, the boardwalks brimming with rollerbladers, or the epic sunsets that signal the beginning of cool evening breezes. If you’re visiting in August, our temperatures are (sizzling) hot, but that won’t stop you from having the time of your life. Take a cue from the locals on how to cool off.
Beach Days (On Repeat)
Clearly, the beach is the logical choice when it comes to beating the summer heat. Pack an umbrella, sunscreen, and a healthy dose of excitement. Once your feet meet the great Pacific, you’ll feel nothing but refreshed.
Shaved Snow & Ice
With our year-round summer temperatures, the concept of snow and ice in LA is laughable. However, in the culinary realm, they are alive and well. Between Hawaiian-style shaved ice at Sawtelle Japantown and boozy Sno Kone in Hollywood, there is a parlor worth trying in (practically) every neighborhood.
Cold Craft Brews
Cool off with a refreshing pint at one of the many craft breweries in The City of Angels. Nothing says summer like a freshly poured draft on a hot Los Angeles day. Lucky for you, our very own Gaslighter has you covered here.
