Stop and Smell the Roses This May in DTLA

April showers bring May flowers. This month in Los Angeles there are plenty of great opportunities to stop and smell the budding roses. At Lilly Rose, you’re invited to Spring High Tea & Highballs, featuring our one-of-kind “Rose Colored Glasses” cocktail, fresh pastries, and tasty bites. Head over to the Los Angeles Flower Market, where you can peruse 125 vibrant varieties of cut flowers and various floral accessories. Then, if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, you can take a leisurely half-hour drive to the Descanso Gardens, a 150-acre botanical wonder that abounds with oak woodlands, roses imported from across the world, camellias, lilacs, irises, maple trees, cherry trees, and much, much more. Descanso Gardens also features The Sturt Haaga Gallery, a unique exhibition space where science and art converge, and the Enchanted Railroad, a tiny diesel train that welcomes passengers of all ages. If you’re in the mood for an even longer day trip, consider traveling down to the Carlsbad Flower Fields, where you can enjoy wagon rides, artist gardens, bird aviaries, an orchid greenhouse, butterfly garden, sunflower garden, and 50 sprawling acres of gorgeous ranunculus, bursting with every color under the sun.
