Groundwork Coffee

November is a month of anticipation. The holidays are approaching, and even in sunny SoCal, the buzz of change is in the air. In preparation for the festivities to come, some might feel inclined to stay focused with a bit of caffeine.

As our favorite roaster says, "Coffee isn’t just coffee." When it comes to certified organic fair-trade beans, Groundwork is our exclusive go-to. Almost 30 years ago, Groundwork opened its doors in Venice Beach with a small-batch roaster. Back in the 90s, they laid the groundwork for an LA born-and-bred coffee brand with a mission to source and share the very best, serving that coveted hot bean brew out of a tiny café on Rose Avenue. Today, they have cafés opening all along the West Coast, a line of cold brews, a roastery in Portland, and another shop right here in Los Angeles.

But you don’t have to stray far from your room for a Groundwork coffee date at The Gaslighter Social Club – featuring hot and iced favorites with Nitro on tap.

Aside from a delicious array of beverages, Groundwork is a brand with values we can get behind – including support from the farmers at origin to the local community’s Downtown Women’s Center.

If you do decide to visit one of their many cafés (found across Downtown LA, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Venice, and even Long Beach) know that they have a pick-me-up for everyone from their Angel City blend to organic tea that can have a real impact any season.
