Celebrating Bourbon Heritage Month in DTLA

Though Kentucky is thousands of miles away, you’ll have no trouble celebrating Bourbon Heritage Month in style this September in DTLA, where world-class mixologists abound. Here are three great options for enjoying the quintessentially American spirit:

1. Epicenter of the Whiskey Society, Seven Grand (515 W 7th St, #200, LA 90014) is an upscale cocktail bar that features live music, billiards, and a range of special events. You can also drop by Bar Jackalope, the intimate Japanese whiskey bar located directly behind Seven Grand, to try 120 unique whiskeys, including some of the world’s rarest bourbons.

2. A boutique wine and spirits shop, Flask & Field (767 S Alameda St, #180, LA 90021) caters to the eclectic set that frequents the DTLA Arts District. No matter your price point, whether you’re searching for bourbon or another fine liquor, you’ll find the perfect bottle to suit your needs.

3. Into Bourbon but not a straight shooter? Lilly Rose has the perfect drink for you…and it’s literally fire. “You’re Killing Me Smalls,” as featured in Urban Daddy, includes Blackened American Whiskey, a bourbon-rye blend from late master distiller Dave Pickerell and Metallica, mixed with Marshmallow, Averna, Bitters, Absinthe, and FIRE. Take it from our Bar Manager, Abi Nuñez, who says “If you love spirit-forward cocktails, you’d love this drink to switch it up from your usual Manhattan. The garnish brings this drink to life. We torch a marshmallow and set it on top of a graham cracker to bring the bonfire to you.” Make a reservation today!
